SPRINT BIOSCIENCE IN SHORT
Sprint Bioscience develops small-molecule drug projects with a focus on oncology. With fragment-based drug design methods, advanced technical approaches, and leading specialists, we develop the drugs of the future - from the idea stage to a clinical candidate with the goal set at being "First-in-Class".
Our business model is to identify and develop drug projects and license these in the preclinical phase to partners in the pharma industry for further development. We choose projects with the greatest technical and commercial potential for success.
About 30 committed employees work closely together in a multidisciplinary environment with cutting-edge science and stimulating projects. We collaborate with academic and industrial partners from all over the world.
We are situated in tailor-made premises in Flemingsberg, Huddinge, 20 minutes by train from Stockholm City.
ABOUT THE POSITION
You will be part of the Medicinal Chemistry team, consisting of 10 dedicated scientists with expertise in synthesis and medicinal chemistry. We, your colleagues are engaged in our work and are always up for discussing challenges and opportunities at the lab bench or a cup of coffee.
You will synthesize unique compounds, design together with the computational chemists and collaborate with the other disciplines (Protein Science, Structural Biology and Tumor Biology and Therapeutics). We work in efficient and dynamic project teams, which are adaptable and change depending on project priorities. Work tasks:
• Synthesis and design of the next generation of small molecule drugs.
• Manage and solve challenging synthesis, both theoretically and practically, for yourself and the team.
• Develop, design, optimize, and streamline methods for synthesis of small molecules.
• Analyze, interpret synthesis outcome and purify organic compounds.
• Updating our synthetic chemistry toolbox and workflows
• Demonstrated determination and good communication skills can lead to future advancement into a project lead role.
WHO YOU ARE
You thrive in the lab because that is where you will spend most of your workday. We put the molecule in the center, meaning it is beneficial if you have a wide experience in heterocyclic chemistry methodology. Collaborative skills and the ability to communicate are essential and work experience from the industry is meritorious.
To be successful in this position you need:
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in organic chemistry with knowledge related to heterocyclic chemistry.
• To be accurate, structured and work safely in the lab.
• A collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communications skills in written and spoken English.
