hela Sverige The main focus for the Research department in Galderma Uppsala is to synthesize and characterize new biomaterials for aesthetic treatments, mainly gel material based on polysaccharides. We are now looking for a Scientist within the Analytical Chemistry group of the Research department. This is a temporary position for 9 month, starting 1st of June 2016. You will report to Manager Analytical Chemistry.
The Research department in Galderma Uppsala is reporting to the Research Director in Sophia-Antipolis, France. We work in close collaboration with colleagues at Galderma Scientific Division in France; the world's largest R&D center specialized in dermatology.
About the role
• Identify relevant and adequate techniques to solve specific analytical characterization questions and needs
• Apply, and if needed develop, analytical methods that match the needs of the early research chemistry projects
• Planning, conducting and reporting analyses, both independently and in cooperation with others
• Writing and reviewing scientific reports within the field
• Writing SOPs when required
• Represent Analytical Chemistry in Research projects and other activities when required
• Collaborate with colleagues from R&D in Sophia-Antipolis as well as external contacts when required
About you
• You have a Ph.D. in chemistry, preferably analytical chemistry
• You bring practical experience of analytical chemistry, where experience from an industrial environment is a plus
• You have a strong background in theory and practice of chromatography, especially HPLC, GC, SEC, as well as chromatography hyphenated to mass spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS)
• If you also bring experience of analyses in the field of carbohydrates, polysaccharides and hydrogels it is a strong merit
• You are a skilled writer and have experience of writing scientific reports or documents and of making oral presentations.
• You possess good communication skills; fluency in Swedish and English, both verbal and written, is required.
• Working in our Research projects requires that you reliably deliver to project goals with high quality, on time. To achieve this, you need to be highly motivated, structured and able to manage tasks simultaneously with a strong delivery focus.
• As you will be working in close collaboration with people in the group and in projects, you should be open-minded, willing to adapt to changes and enjoy working with others in a collaborative way.
