SIS is looking for a full time school nurse. The position is permanent and the successful candidate will start in August 2010.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Nurse is responsible for the following:
Professional level medical care for students
Health records for all students
Providing recommendations regarding the health and well-being of students to the administration
Health assessment testing (vision, hearing, scoliosis, growth and weight)
Monitoring immunization according to Swedish legal requirements
Ensuring that the operation of the health services in the school meet Swedish health requirements
Administering emergency care and first aid to students and staff
Assisting in the organisation and implementation of specific education programmes (e.g. nutrition, exercise, puberty)
Organising first aid training for staff
Assisting the school?s administration with regard to health education in the school
Qualifications, Attributes and Experience
The Nurse is expected to have:
Formal qualifications in nursing equivalent to a university degree
Registration as a nurse in Sweden
Use English as the working language
The ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organisational skills (able to self-manage time and meet commitments on time).
Excellent communication skills (liaising with students, parents, staff and administrators).
The ability to show initiative and work independently.
A sense of humour.
The ability to work as part of a team that consists of the Dean of Students as well as the school counselor.
An affinity for children
A pleasant and friendly personality
The position is full time and permanent.
