Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for a researcher in the area of video coding.
The pace of innovation in image and video processing has never been as fast as now, with new applications and technical solutions appearing at an ever-increasing speed. Our team is at the forefront of this development, designing the next-generation video codecs. You will invent, implement, and test video coding and image processing algorithms that will be deployed in billions of devices connected to the communication networks of tomorrow.
You may participate in deciding how new video formats from organizations such as MPEG and ITU-T will work, develop emerging video-enabled technologies such as AR/VR, and enhance existing and future Ericsson products and offerings. You may be involved in projects and collaborations across Ericsson, industry, and academia. You will produce software implementing novel algorithms, write standard contributions, academic publications, and patent applications and build technology demonstrations.
You will
Work with an international team of world-class researchers including some of the key authorities and leaders with vision worldwide in media coding.
Influence the development of standards for video coding technology used by billions of people worldwide.
Deepen your expertise in innovative video processing and coding.
Work in a dynamic department with opportunities for learning, taking on new responsibilities, impacting ways of working, and much more.
To be successful in the role you must have
MSc. or Ph.D. in a relevant technical area.
Experience or demonstrated interest in video compression algorithms.
Experience or demonstrated interest in signal processing and machine learning in areas related to image/video coding and processing.
Solid programming skills in OO languages such as C/C++ and Python.
Familiarity with video coding standards such as H.265/HEVC and H.266/VVC.
Track record in publishing in scientific journals and delivering presentations at standardization meetings, academic conferences, or relevant industry events.
