AASS carries out multi-disciplinary research at the intersection of robotics and artificial intelligence. The main roles of AASS in AIPlan4EU include research in AI planning, hybrid planning and human-aware planning, as well as the integration of an AI planning service in the European AI-on-demand platform developed by the AI4EU EU H2020 project.
Duties and responsibilities
The The researcher will contribute to the scientific development of the AASS center in general, and in particular to the performance of the work in AIPlan4EU by developing methods for hybrid planning, human-aware planning, and the integration of AI planning tools in the European AI on-demand platform. The work will be done in close collaboration with other partners of the AIPlan4EU project and of the AI4EU project. The project may also involve physical robotic demonstrators. The researcher shall spend their working hours mainly on research. The appointment may also include teaching when there is a need within the organization. The candidate must also have proven experience with using AI and planning in real physical systems like robots and sensor systems. Additionally, competence in the foundations of hybrid reasoning in AI is required, that is, the ability to integrate different AI techniques in a principled way, e.g., techniques for knowledge representation, reasoning, planning and machine learning. Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
The researcher must have a demonstrated ability to work in, and strongly contribute to, international teams, especially in the context of European projects.
