In Ericsson, we use the collective term "devices" for equipment connecting to our networks. Examples can be anything from a VR-capable smartphone to an intelligent thermostat or a smart price tag.
Technology leadership is essential for Ericsson's success and the device segment is one most aggressive technology drivers in the world with its extreme requirements on properties like energy efficiency, cost and size.
Because of this we are looking to recruit innovative, technically curious researchers to develop cutting edge software and hardware solutions in the device segment. The goal of the work is to create groundbreaking, new technology for Ericsson's infrastructure products, exercise influence on key communities and ecosystems and further strengthen Ericsson's patent portfolio.
Ericsson Research
Ericsson Research (ER), is the central research organization within the Ericsson group. We are over 600 researchers in eight countries, headquartered in Kista, Stockholm. Our mission is to provide Ericsson with system concepts, technology, and intellectual property, to secure the long-term success and competitiveness of Ericsson. World-class innovation is achieved through cooperation within Ericsson as well as with partners, customers, universities, and research institutes.
A successful candidate will:
Work in an international and dynamic environment with strong opportunities for professional growth.
Work in an area of great strategic importance for the Ericsson Group
Be a regular author of Ericsson patents
Make significant impact on Ericsson's partner ecosystem, international industry bodies and software communities

Ericsson celebrates diversity and welcome applicants of all genders and nationalities. All positions are based in Lund, Sweden.
Ericsson is recruiting a number of researchers for the new unit "Device Platform Research". The unit is the center of gravity for device related research in ER with the charter to create strategically important intellectual property and novel technical concepts, be a strategic ecosystem influencer, and serve as a pool of expertise supporting strategy, business and standardization functions within the Ericsson group.
The work involves a great degree of freedom but the expectations on innovative output and quality are high.
