The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology conducts research and offers education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Research, the predominant activity, is often done in collaboration with corporate and international partners. We are one of the university's largest, oldest and most well known departments, encompassing five interacting scientific fields: biology, chemistry, material physics, applied physics and theory and modelling.

Your future work assignments
Your tasks will consist of being involved in the upgrading and operation of the Super ADAM, which is a neutron reflectometer placed at ILL in Grenoble, France, and owned and operated by Uppsala, Lund and Linköping Universities in collaboration. The position means responsibility for development, maintenance, and technical documentation of the existing software for control of the instrument, as well as responsibility for a future upgrade to EPICS in collaboration with ESS ERIC. Furthermore, the position include duties for user support during experiments, evaluation of data, and data storage. The position requires stationing at ILL in Grenoble .
Your future workplace
You will work at the Thin Film Physics division at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM). The research and education within the division is focused on synthesis and experimental studies of thin films and nano-structured materials. Our research involves several areas including characterization of surfaces, thin films, and bulk materials.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a Doctors degree in physics of magnetic materials. The position requires a solid experience of neutron reflectometry and neutron scattering techniques, experience of working on neutron facilities and in the construction of neutron instrumentation, as well as great knowledge and skills in associated programming.
