Who are we?
VOLVO Group Trucks Technology-Connectivity is leading the development of in-vehicle connectivity-based solution for the whole VOLVO Group. At Connectivity we are in the middle of the digital transformation, and we work with implementing of end-to-end functions for increased uptime, safety and efficiency. Current development within the area of connectivity is growing faster than ever. Given this, we need to complete our product development with research and advanced engineering activities to be a front-runner in addressing the future need of our customers. Right now we are in an expansive phase of the technology development and we are in need of technology experts who can help us to build up the future vehicle connectivity platform.

About the role
As a Research Engineer, you will work in a team responsible for research, advanced engineering and product development of new solutions and technologies. It means you are more than happy to dive deep into research projects to help identify brilliant new ideas for the future of transport. These ideas will then be applied to our products to verify the solution, and with a successful result, we can continue the last mile in large-scale product development. You can look forward to an individual and inspiring position with many enthusiastic and professional colleagues. Every day, you will drive and participate in various development projects to improve existing and/or create new solutions - a challenging and varied task requiring problem-solving innovators who thrive in teamwork and developing technical solutions.

Technical competencies:
Short- and long-range communication protocols
Embedded Software Development in C++ 14/17
Embedded Linux, Yocto
Presenting technical results
Fluent in English, spoken and written
Qualifications
M.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics, Software and/or Computer engineering
2 years of experience in software development
Electrical & Electronics hardware configuration and setup (specifically RF systems)
Short Range Communication (802.11p)
Scripting languages like Python
Cyber Security, SSL/TLS
Map and Positioning (GNNS)
