hela Sverige The Strategic and Academic Governance Team is responsible for the School's rankings, accreditations and liaising with UKÄ, reporting, as well as analyzing and advising the Management Team and Program Teams on ranking and accreditation results. The Strategic and Academic Governance Team also annually surveys alumni over the first five years after graduation. The data from this project is used to create SSE's Placement Reports and help improve internal processes.

About the Role
As Research Advisor at Stockholm School of Economics, you will play a central role in strengthening the school's ability to secure external research funding, particularly from the EU Framework Programmes. You will work closely with faculty to identify opportunities, develop competitive proposals, and build strong international collaborations. The role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on support, making you a key partner in strengthening SSE's research funding and advancing SSE's international research reach.
The role involves close collaboration with faculty, administrative colleagues, and external partners. The role is an integral part of the Research Office at SSE, which is located under the unit Strategic and Academic Governance. You will report to the Director of Strategic and Academic Governance and work closely with the rest of the team which also covers the areas of legal and governance, and quality and ranking.
Key responsibilities
- Identify relevant EU calls and other international funding opportunities.
- Support faculty in developing, writing, and coordinating research applications.
- Provide advice on project design, budgeting, and consortium building.
- Liaise with funding agencies, partner universities, and internal support functions.
- Contribute to SSE's strategic work to increase external funding from EU.
- Provide administrative support in relation to proposal preparation and reporting.
Your profile
This role requires an independent and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, ambitious academic environment with high standards. Given the nature of the role, you must also be service-minded, as you will interact with various stakeholders across the organization. You should be organized, flexible, and efficient, ensuring tasks are completed with accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- A university degree
- Experience from research-related work
- Documented experience of giving advice or support for EU-funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe)
- Oral and written fluency in English
Meritorious
- A doctoral degree, preferably in business, economics or other social sciences
- Experience in conducting research
- Experience in applying for or receiving external research funding
- Oral and written fluency in Swedish
- Experience of working in an advisory role close to researchers
