Our Exciting Opportunity
Every time you use an app on your smartphone, talk over VoLTE or use Mobile Broadband, you connect to internet - this connection is what we enable.
Product Engineering Unit Radio (PEU Radio), within Development Unit Networks (DNEW) drives the research and development of Ericsson's radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, developers collaborating across sites in Sweden, China and Canada to drive Ericsson's strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G and next generations.
Radio Products Sweden (RPSE) drives the end-to-end radio product development to enable efficient way of working and shorten time to market. Our headquarter is in Kista (Stockholm, Sweden).
We are called Product Systemization within RPSE, and we deliver complete-solution and performance systemized radio products (Remote Radio and Massive MIMO Radio) to our customers.
The radio performance requirement allocation domain handles trade-off between desired system behavior while considering the available design possibilities and limitations. It means radio frequency (RF) requirement break down towards HW design architecture interfaces, optimization of design choices, targeting to improve whole radio size, cost and time to market.
More specifically the radio performance requirement allocation addresses RF aspects for both out of band and in band, with focus on out of band delivery.
We welcome the opportunity to meet you!

You will
as Radio System designer work closely with Design Leads, Strategic Product Managers (SPMs), Customer Units (CU), Requirement and Verification teams
secure complex radio unit performance with desired balanced performance allocation
have the responsibility to give feedback on requirement requests and highlight the opportunities to improve and impact design choices, based on optimized performance allocation
Main responsibilities are:
• Summaries and analyze the general design assumption inputs from pre-studies and from the radio design units
• Drive the RF performance characteristics requirement break down towards agreed interfaces defined by HW design architecture considering the modular system. Deliver the result in radio specific Design Specification
• User of the global tool called ReqMate for out of band calculations:
o Establish a ReqMate model based on applicable line-ups and component roadmaps
o Optimize (based on performance, cost, size) the out of band allocation
o Negotiation of requirements between design areas (uplink, downlink, filter, antenna)
• Allocation decisions are reached by collaboration in the cross functional design team with technical leader representatives from required system and design areas
• Guide and support, system and radio unit HW designers in designing and fault finding the radio unit product.
