R&D Lab Engineer to Arguseye

Do you want to work with the latest technology and new innovations? Now you have the opportunity to become part of a small but rapidly growing company where your contribution in the role of R&D Lab Engineer will be an important part of the continued growth journey.

About ArgusEye
ArgusEye is a Swedish company developing and providing innovative sensor systems for the biopharma industry. Their vision is to reshape the development and production of biological medicines through integrated sensor systems that, through real-time data, improve efficiency. Today, the manufacture of several of our most important medicines depends on time-consuming off-line tests that make manufacturing more difficult and expensive, which also makes these medicines inaccessible to a large part of the population. With the help of ArguEye's technology, this problem can be circumvented and manufacturing can be made more efficient, which increases availability for those who need the drugs. By working as an R&D Lab Engineer at ArgusEye, you will have an important part in this work and contribute to a better future.

The company was founded in 2017 and is currently in a scale-up phase, from start-up to established company. The patented technology is the result of extensive academic research at Linköping University and is based on nanoplasmonics sensing in combination with fiber optics.

What does the role of R&D Lab Engineer entail?
As an R&D Lab Engineer at ArgusEye, you get the opportunity to be part of a small but growing team that works with the company's sensor development. Your primary role will involve working with the development of new sensor chips. This includes design, fabrication, evaluation and improvement of existing solutions. In your work, you will use various characterization and manufacturing techniques such as HPLC. The work also takes place in close collaboration with other team members at ArgusEye to ensure a successful integration of the sensor chips into the overall system. Being part of a smaller company also means that you get the opportunity to be involved and influence the company's development and growth, including the establishment of new work routines, collaborations and other interactions.

Your responsibilities

Plan, design and perform experiments related to the development and characterization of new sensor chips as well as to produce data that can contribute to better data models.
Contribute to the development of new ideas and concepts for the design and manufacture of sensor chips.
Develop and validate new product prototypes for various applications.
Maintain laboratory notebooks and electronic records according to data quality and integrity standards.
Prepare scientific/technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc., and present them to internal and external stakeholders.
Perform regular lab maintenance to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Who are you?
For this role, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who wants to be an active part in ArgusEye's continued growth journey. We believe that you have a passion for research and enjoy spending time in the lab with practical experiments and understand the importance of a systematic approach and documentation for a successful product development process. You have a documented experience in lab work, via education or work, and a deep understanding of general chemical and biological principles.

To succeed in the role, you need to be comfortable working with multiple tasks in a flexible environment where projects and priorities can change quickly, which is part of the charm of working in a scaleup company. You have the ability to work independently but also thrive in environments where close collaboration with the team is required. Furthermore, you have a good ability to see what needs to be done and are not afraid to take your own initiative. You enjoy independently planning and carrying out experiments and like to learn new things.

Your qualifications

MSc or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
Experience of working with various tools and equipment in a laboratory environment. Experience with SPR or other techniques for protein-protein interaction are meriting, as is knowledge or previous experience in biopharmaceutical production.
Ability to perform laboratory procedures accurately and reproducibly.
Capable to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to multi-task and manage several projects in parallel, paying careful attention to details.
Good knowledge in data analysis. Experience exploring, modeling and visualizing data using MATLAB or other programming tools is a plus.
Good understanding of general chemical principles and biomolecular interactions.
Proficient in standard Office programs like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

We also attach great importance to personal suitability.
