Our Mechanical Metallography and Corrosion unit, a key part of Strategic Research, excels in corrosion, mechanical testing, and heat treatment. We deliver high-quality test results, innovate new and existing test methods, and actively participate in research and development projects. Our methods range from standardized tests to proprietary complex methods.

Your role
As an R&D Engineer in mechanical testing, you will have a key role in our unit. You will enjoy a dynamic assignment with diverse responsibilities, where you perform tests, conduct analysis, and report results to ensure that our products meet customer demands. Together with colleagues and customers, you develop new test methods and improve existing ones. You identify new needs for investments and drive these projects forward.
The main responsibilities are as follows:
Plan, conduct tests and analysis of results based on customer requests with team members.
Effective communication of the results, both verbally and in form of reports.
Actively participating in research and development projects to continuously develop new methods.
Identifying and implementing process improvements to maintain machinery and equipment in top condition.
Identifying investment needs, and driving investment initiatives, and projects.
Engaging in the unit's work and working with various methods; mechanical properties testing such as tensile testing, hardness testing, impact strength testing, and other special tests.
Your Profile
We are looking for a talented individual with a higher education in materials or mechanics, preferably with a few years of experience in mechanical testing. You should have both a practical and theoretical understanding of mechanical properties and method development. Proficiency in computer skills is a must. As we are based in Sweden but act in the international arena, your communications skills in English and preferably also in Swedish are good, both verbally and in writing.

You are a true team player who takes initiative and collaborates well with others. Your excellent communication skills make it easy for you to build and maintain relationships. We appreciate your creativity and ability to find new ways, while also understanding the importance of performing standardized work according to routines. Accuracy and structure characterize your work, but you are flexible and can adapt to changing priorities and business decisions. Your willingness and drive to develop our business means that you will enjoy working with us.
