Scania Purchasing is responsible for purchasing products and services for all of Scania's units around the world. The global purchasing function is based in Södertälje.

The S-order, FFU & Defence purchasing group is responsible for the purchasing element of customer and market adaptations of various kinds. We provide timely solutions to meet customers ' demands, including adaptations and/or additions to standard specifications. Purchasing activities are project based and include close cooperation with development, marketing, production and aftermarket departments. All projects are initiated by Scania's sales organisation. We work with a focus on lead times and time to market.

Your duties
In your role as buyer for within this group, you will mainly be responsible for purchasing components and articles outside our standard range in order to meet the specific requirements from the customers.

You will represent purchasing in cross-functional projects and will be involved in determining choice of materials, components and suppliers from a lead time, cost-efficiency and quality perspective.

You will be responsible for commercial activities including negotiating prices, entering into development agreements and working actively on the development of existing and future suppliers. The position involves process development as well, in order to fulfil the market 's requirement of high quality and efficient solutions to the end customer.

The work involves international contacts, and limited travel will be required.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a university degree and at least two years experiences of purchasing or other commercial activities. A commercial approach and an organised attitude are second nature to you. You have an interest in both technology and business. You are service oriented, get things done and keep deadlines.

Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Swedish is a requirement. You communicate easily and clearly while creating and maintaining good relationships. You take initiatives and responsibilities for the tasks given. You enjoy working with other people, both within the company and with our suppliers.
