www.fingerprints.com Fingerprints is seeking a committed Project Manager to join us in developing future fingerprint systems for mobile phones and other portable devices. Fingerprints is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packaging, to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition and applications on the target devices.
The Role
The position as a Project Manager involves driving and coordinating technically advanced development projects. The position is within the field of semiconductor packaging which is managed by Fingerprints R&D team - Microelectronic Packaging Development (PAC). The task for this team is to provide the sensitive CMOS sensor with a package where the costumers are offered an electrically and mechanically robust interface. Compared to traditional packaging there are high requirements on customized outline and functional surface properties. Package types used are ranging from standardized wire bonding devices to advanced 3D integrated multi die solutions based on TSV and WLFO.
The main objective with this position is to drive activities, related to semiconductor packaging, within product development projects at Fingerprints. The overall focus for such projects is to develop and to industrialize the next generation of fingerprint sensors for mobile phones and other portable devices.
Your role is to organize the work within packaging, through planning and follow up, and to report progress to the overall R&D project manager responsible for both HW&SW. Execution is done with a team of engineers with different technical competences. Besides this you are expected to drive risk assessments and in general to take an active part in technical decisions within the project.
The Project Manager role within packaging is at large technical and does not include any direct personnel or budget responsibilities. The position also involves communication with subcontractors in an international environment, mainly in Asia.
The work location is in Malmö were most of the team members are positioned. This role reports to our Director Microelectronic Packaging Development, R&D in Gothenburg.
International travel to Fingerprints suppliers, partners and customers on occasion will be required. The work includes a high tempo and you are usually working in several projects at the time covering several development sites.
Your Background
This role requires a technical education, such as Master or Bachler in electronics, physics, chemistry or the equivalent, as well as relevant occupational experience in a similar field.
You need to be fluent in spoken and written English and not opposed to traveling abroad.
Success in this role requires:
• Experience of technical project leading in an international environment.
• Experience of development projects for hardware products in electronics.
• Experience of cooperation with subcontractors in Asia.
You also have essential qualities such as being ambitious, motivated and flexible. You need to be comfortable working in a growing company, where you will be expected to assume considerable personal responsibility for your own activities and the company's success. This also requires you to be a team player who contributes to an open and positive atmosphere in the workplace. You have good communication skills and are used to work with colleagues that is located elsewhere.
