The project
One of your key responsibilities will be to assume the role of thematic coordinator for three teams (Industry, Zero-pollution and Farm to Fork) in the Green Agenda for Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine (GA GUMA) project. The project brings together different government actors from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to deliver policy changes, make economies greener, improve environmental governance, stimulate investment, uptake innovative technologies and create green jobs. The main objective of the project is to assist Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia in reaching climate neutrality goals through green transition. Within the framework of the project, national roadmaps for achieving climate neutrality will be developed, based on European Green Deal.
The GA GUMA project will cover 8 key and 5 cross-cutting thematic areas, totaling 13 (following European Green Deal approach). The key areas include climate, energy, building and renovation, smart mobility, mobilizing industry for a clean and circular economy, zero pollution, farm to fork and biodiversity, along with 5 cross-cutting areas - finance for transition, digitalization, EU acquis, just transition, and research and innovation.
The teams in the GUMA project will comprise Team Leads, team/thematic coordinators, and international and national experts. They will drive the development of the above-mentioned project outputs in their respective areas.
Key duties and responsibilities
Provide overall support to Team Leads for the timely delivery of project outputs.
Coordinate internal communication and logistics within the teams.
Track and monitor the content of the team's written materials, ensuring alignment with overall project guidance and work plans.
Support the on-boarding and coordination of national experts.
Cooperate with other thematic coordinators as relevant.
Respond to information requests and inquiries from thematic area experts and project beneficiaries.
Assist Team Leads in ensuring coherence between different countries' national teams in their respective thematic area, identifying connections and opportunities.
Conduct necessary analysis and research, in both verbal and written form, where relevant.
Support the GUMA project manager and national coordinators as required.

Additionally, you will:
Identify new opportunities and donors, lead preparation of bids and proposals, develop budgets and create technical documentation.
Provide general support to Western Balkans-related projects and initiatives.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Relevant university degree.
Minimum three years of experience in similar projects or initiatives.
Excellent proficiency in the English language and ability to produce written outputs (academic papers, reports, policy briefs and presentations).
Excellent analytical skills.
Familiarity with EU Green Deal and its practical application.
Experience working with the thematic areas (Industry, Zero-pollution and Farm to Fork).
Experience working in multi-disciplinary diverse teams, including teams comprising of researchers, technical roles and practitioners.
Ability to handle competing demands and work with tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal- and cultural sensitivity skills.

Desirable
Knowledge of Eastern Partnership countries (specifically, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).
Knowledge of the local language of any Eastern Partnership countries (specifically, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and/or Ukraine).
Experience with regional and/or national projects in Eastern Partnership Countries.
Expertise in the implementation of EU acquis.

Additional information
This is a full-time 2-year fixed-term with placement at SEI HQ in Stockholm, Sweden. The start date is as soon as possible or by arrangement.
SEI has a hybrid work environment, which allows employees to share their time between the SEI office and working remotely from their homes in Sweden. Please note that it is not possible to work outside of Sweden.
