Job Description
Who are you?
As a Product Lifecycle Engineer (PLE) you will be responsible to support our highly efficient Engineering Lifecycle Team (ELT) with an overall goal to secure our running range lifecycle maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Being an entry point to engineering function within IKEA of Sweden, it's helps you to understand the different roles withing the function and build competence in all, to help you choose and steer your next step.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
Product lifecycle maintenance, meaning ensure that the product documentation is compliant, up-to-date, and according to IKEA guidelines and standards. A well as find and act on gaps in the product documentation.
Contribute to ensure that our products are legally compliant in all markets throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsible to perform moderate changes on products including technical requirements, labels & markings, construction drawings, packaging solution updates/improves, etc.
As part of the Engineering Lifecycle Team, you will be responsible for the Market Specific Range handovers from development centers to Core Business Range and make sure they are legally compliant, with no potential safety and quality risks and according to IoS documentation standards.
You will work closely with engineer teams and purchasing organizations, within several product areas and categories.
You will also be responsible for potential improves projects due to compliance, new local or global requirements, quality, and cost-downs.
Qualifications
To have a university degree in Engineering.
To have knowledge in 3D drawings, SolidWorks and Windchill.
To have experience in working with product development and/or creation and maintenance of product documentation will be a plus.
As well as to have supply chain knowledge (cost drivers, handling of goods and materials).
To have knowledge about Store & Organise furniture products and range will be a plus.
To have knowledge about Product Safety and Risk Assessments.
Work in a structured way with analytical skills and take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
