Volvo Car Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets Volvo Cars all over the world. Its research and development mostly takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden. Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers
and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production and non-production material and services to Volvo Cars.
The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
The Purchasing department Chassis, Body & Fasteners, is responsible for purchase of direct material to VCC and is divided into three groups: Chassis, Brakes & Steering and Body & Fasteners. We are now replacing two of our Product Buyers.
The group Brakes and Steering, is replacing the Product Buyer for Brakes, Parking Brakes and Pedals. The group Body & Fasteners is replacing the Product Buyer for Fasteners.
Our main tasks are to purchase prototypes and production material for programs and running production. We are also responsible for sourcing and quality assurance of suppliers.
Job Description:
Carry out negotiations at an optimal cost level
Make agreements and contracts
Conduct supplier selection and evaluation
Cooperate in cross-functional teams
Achieve improvements and efficiency by establishing a supplier base in accordance with overall strategy
Administrative work (transactions, updating price files, reporting, resolving supplier issues)
Main contact for all commercial issues towards the suppliers
Sourcing activities:
Issue RFQ
Negotiate and establish Sourcing Agreement and CPA
Issue Purchase Order
Act on design changes within the project
Establish action plans on part specific supplier issues in running business
Requirements:
Purchasing experience in the automotive industry is desired
Commercial or Technical University degree
Technical interest
Ability to work with departments across the organization
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
The ability to work successfully in a team environment
Strong computer skills
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
High degree of integrity
Ability to manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines and expectations
