The group Dressed Engine, are managing Engine Management System (EMS) electronics and software, fuel injection, ignition- and glow system. W also manage sensors, actuators, turbo chargers, superchargers, EGR and hot end exhaust including substrate, washcoat and PGM within Powertrain Purchasing. We purchase material to advanced projects, new projects and running production for all Volvo Car Groups Engine and Vehicle manufacturing plants.
As a Product Buyer within the EMS team you will be working with fuel injection equipment. You will work in close cooperation with engineering and other stakeholders to meet the project targets for cost and timing. This requires a holistic understanding, a strategic view and to proactively develop and improve the supplier base within the cross functional team. You will establish agreements with suppliers such as "Sourcing Agreement", "Commercial and Program Agreement", and having the overall perspective for the commodity. You will also work with cost reduction on a cross functional basis and be responsible for supplier annual commercial reductions.
Main responsibilities
• Issuing purchase orders and update prices in SI+
• Negotiate technical changes
• Reduce total cost
• Conducting request for quotations and negotiate commercial and legal agreements
• Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders
• Ensure purchasing processes are followed and enhanced
• Develop commercial opportunities within the supply chain
• Establish action plans on supplier-specific issues
Required qualifications
• Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent
• Knowledge in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Drivers licence B
• Negotiation and commercial experience is meritorious
• Technical knowledge or interest is meritorious
• Experience from Volvo Car Group purchasing is considered as an advantage
