Position Description

We are looking for a Principle Energy & fuel analyst, a fuel specialist in supporting both long and short term Powertrain system development and products across the Volvo Group. A person who knows that the key to business success is curiosity, drive for result and a desire to learn.
In this role you will represent Volvo Group in both external international networks, standards, and in internal activities. The role will also involve "hands on" activities in order to support our development projects, as well as long term analytical energy perspectives, follow-up of certification and compliance activities including interpreting and breaking down legal requirements. All in all a challenging role with a wide span from strategies to details.
Powertrain Engineering (PE) Sweden within Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) is working with developing, industrializing, and maintaining heavy duty engines, transmissions, and electro mobility solutions for the commercial transportation business. This position is in the Strategic Development department within (PE) and it supports both product development at GTT as well as the business areas within the Volvo group with fuel expertise.

Main Responsibilities

Represent Volvo Group in external network, contacts with authorities regarding fuels and energy as well as fuel standardization bodies
Contacts with fuel suppliers, specific investigations related to fuel market on behalf of Volvo Group, e.g. fuel prices, availability, legislation
Maintain fuel expertise and knowledge sharing info regarding global fuel and AdBlue, in terms of specifications, legislation, and fuel quality analysis
Deliver fuel and energy roadmap annually
Proactively work in public funding research project regarding fuels and energy
Well to wheel and LCA assessment

Who are you?
You enjoy taking initiatives and have a strong ability to create relations and networks with the people you work with. You always do it with high integrity in order to create and open and transparent environment. As a person you enjoy working in a team and you have good communication and collaboration skills.

You have experience from heavy duty diesel engines development preferably in the field of energy and fuels
Good knowledge of engine combustion fundamentals and controls
At least 8 years of experience in the automotive business within powertrain development, Strong communication skills in English
Preferably PhD or Master of Science (or equivalent)
