We are now looking to recruit the right person to support part of our development efforts regarding our new electrical architecture. We are searching for a person that can provide senior experience to our cross functional development team, assisting in early project phases with concept design around our core architecture, functional design, signal interfaces and signal network setup.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be working in a team of around 9 people that has the shared responsibility to develop the systems, components, software, and functions connected to the core chassis systems and body interface. Some of the development are handled in-house, but the team works closely with both external suppliers and Volvo truck development teams as well.
Your area of expertise will be system and architectural design of the responsibility area, handling both functionality, diagnostics, and communication with other systems. You will mainly work in earlier phases of a project, handling CAN topology concepts and identify needed function changes. There is room for taking on different responsibilities as well, depending on your own skills and personality. You will also be part of the system design and architectural community here in Volvo bus, sharing experience and ideas with system design engineers in other teams.
Most of the work here are done in the same systems as used in other parts of Volvo group, one of them that is good to have earlier experience in is the system/module-based design tool, known as SystemWeaver or SE-tool.
Since we are a smaller company, we all work with broad responsibilities and cross-functionally through the entire company, across many different departments and competence areas. This position will be no different, coordinating yours and your teams work with the rest of the development teams here at buses will be important.
You will be part of a team where we encourage having fun at work and where we believe in the power of teamwork. Our department, Electrical and Software Architecture are a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT) at Volvo Buses that are responsible to integrate Volvo group technology into our buses and develop bus unique solutions when needed. We are responsible to secure short- and long-term quality solutions on the electrical and software systems of the bus.
THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
You will be part of a team where we encourage having fun at work and where we believe in the power of teamwork. We have already taken the first step towards agile ways of working and hiring a product owner is the next step. Our department, Electrical and Software Architecture are a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT) at Volvo Buses that are responsible to integrate Volvo group technology into our buses and develop bus unique solutions when needed. We are responsible to secure short and long term quality solutions on the electrical and software systems of the bus. In close cooperation with colleagues at different departments, we are supporting each other in reaching our mission in helping millions of travellers reaching their travel destination. All over the World. Every day.
THIS PROBABLY DEFINES YOU
It would be meriting but not necessary to have earlier experience within Volvo Group, working with TEA2+ and bridge plan development. You have some experience in developing Autosar based control units and knowledge about CAN communication standards. Having experience in signal database design is also highly meriting. We think you have experience in participating in teams and development networks, coordinating work across different competences to reach the best concept decisions. You have a BSc or MSc degree in mechatronics/electrical engineering or equivalent, are great and communication and networking, solution focused and eager to learn and work with your own development.
We believe it is the right mind-set that will make a difference within our organization and our company. If you see yourself taking initiative, building networks and always learning new things, while thriving in a relaxed social environment, then we believe you have the right attitude to be successful in this position.
ARE WE A PERFECT MATCH?
The societies where many of us live would not function without the type of products and services the Volvo Group provides. Like a circulatory system, our trucks, buses, engines, construction equipment and different, related services are involved in several of the functions that most of us rely on every day.
Do you want to be a part of something bigger? Would you like to help Volvo bus take the next step in advancing our electronic architecture development? In addition, do you have a passion for teamwork and functional development, then Welcome to our team and Volvo Buses!
