Nanologica's porous materials have novel properties and functions based on their size, shape and composition. The technology is based on research at Stockholm University and Uppsala University. The Swedish-based company was founded in 2004.
Nanologica is looking to recruit an experienced researcher for a 24-month project, under the Marie Curie Initial Training Network CycloN Hit, starting September 1, 2014.
CycloN Hit is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) on nanocarriers for the delivery of antimicrobial agents to fight resistance mechanisms (project no. 608407). The objective of the CycloN Hit project is to take full advantage of nanotechnology and of the high level interdisciplinary expertise of the 11 full partners and 6 associate partners to efficiently encapsulate and protect antibiotics in nanocarriers for both intracellular and extracellular delivery to combat resistant bacteria, and study the mechanisms in biological systems using state-of-the art techniques.
The title of the project to be conducted by the experienced researcher positioned at Nanologica is Mesoporous silica nanoparticles loaded with antimicrobials and/or capped with cyclodextrins. Candidates entitled to apply for this position have a PhD title or between 4 and 5 years of research experience at the time of recruitment, and cannot have spent more than 12 months in Sweden over the last 3 years. The successful candidate has experience from one or more of the related research areas.
The researcher will perform the major part of his/her research at Nanologica, but will also be doing secondments at the laboratories of some of the other participants in CycloN Hit. Furthermore, there will be workshops and summer schools organized in the project.
