Plantagen is the leading plant and garden center in Scandinavia and we offer our customers all kinds of plants and everything you need to grow. Additionally, we have products that make it easy to enjoy being in the garden and it is for these products, which we now are searching for our next Business Area Manager. If you have worked in retail for many years and is really business focused, you may very well be the one who will be responsible for all our products, besides plants and pots.
As our Business Area Manager you are involved in the entire process from decision to sell a product, to find a suitable dealer, purchasing, price negotiation, logistics and finally ensure that the product reaches our customers.
The role requires you to have full control of profitability; the competition and that you know what the market wants. In short, we want you to take full responsibility and ownership of the entire business through the chain from factory to store and finally to the customer.
To your help you will have a fantastic team of four people consisting of product managers and assistants, which you will have staff responsibility over. Together you will see that your customers get the products they demand.
You will have complete budget and profit responsibility for our entire Complementary range, which means that you will be calculating prices and margins. We are searching for someone who wants to lead, develop and operate this business area on our journey to even greater success. Our culture is warm and caring. In your role as Business Area Manager you will coach and inspire your employees. You will have a lot of supplier contact and be involved in all stages of the buying process. You and your team are working closely with the sales and marketing departments, as well as country mangers in the Nordic countries.
It will be a great responsibility on you to develop and implement strategies to optimize the business is in the best way possible.
If you are the person we are looking for to this position, you have worked in retail for a minimum of 10 years and you have experience in purchasing and product management. Academic education is desirable and/or equivalent work experience in product development and purchasing. You must have had a management role with personnel responsibility. The role will involve travel within Europe and Asia.
As a person you are confident in your role as coaching manager and leader. You are empathetic supportive and responsive while allowing you to set clear requirements and inspire your employees to development and success. You have a strong sense of commitment and clear communications skills.
