We are proud product owners for components, systems as well as complete powertrains. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. The majority of our powertrain components are traditional combustion engines, after treatment systems, transmissions and axles however the importance of e-mobility components is growing every day.
We stand in front of significant challenges - where reducing transport emitted CO2 emissions is one of the biggest - and are now adapting to take this on by simplifying and empowering our organization and way of working. The Exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) department is responsible for the global platform development of exhaust aftertreatment systems for Volvo Group's different product around the world. We are about 80 passionated and highly skilled engineers on a mission to reduce the environmental impact of global transportation. Together with our colleagues around the world we take full system responsibility.
Responsibilities / Main tasks
As System Chief Engineer you will drive the global technical agenda for EATS systems. You will prepare the medium / long term evolution of the EATS system - Create and anchor system roadmaps, competitor and supplier knowledge, initiate needed advanced engineering activities and be a member of the global platform governance.
It is also very important to work closely together with the other technologies such as Combustion and Base Engine, as well as with the global EATS network to secure that their inputs and needs are taken care of in our system development.
As System Chief Engineer you will also be responsible for the system level cross-functional alignment with our colleagues in Purchasing, Operations and Aftermarket.

We expect you to combine a strong technical knowledge with a strategic mindset. You have a holistic view and ability to balance stakeholder needs with technical feasibility. Beside knowledge in EATS technology you have a good understanding of how our products are operated by our customers. You understand that being accountable means driving activities inside as well as outside your own organization.
You are knowledgeable about the Volvo Group's products around the world and what requirements the operation put on the EATS system. Moreover you have knowledge about the global roadmap of emission legislation updates and understand what technology that is needed to address more stringent requirements for different types of emissions.
You have a positive mindset, are a team player and always happy to share your knowledge and experience with others. Global collaboration is in your DNA and communicating complex topics in an understandable way comes natural to you.
You hold a relevant Master of Science degree in engineering and have several years of proven experience in automotive technology development.
