hela Sverige Transport is one of the industries where developments in connectivity are moving fastest. Scania is investing heavily in this area and the pace of development is rapid. As the Patent Department works in close cooperation with the product development, this means that there is a great deal of patent-related activity related to connectivity/IoT.
Therefore, the Scania Patent Department is strengthening it's team with another Patent Attorney in the field of Connectivity/IoT.
The Patent Department has its premises at the Scania Technical Centre in Södertälje, which is easily accessible using Scania's own bus service to/from Stockholm C and Liljeholmen.
Your duties
As an in-house Patent Attorney at Scania you will be responsible for an area of technology and your duties will include, among other things, capturing ideas, carrying out patentability assessments, performing infringement investigations, prosecuting patent applications and oppositions, advisory services and strategic discussions with the technical management within your area of responsibility. The work takes place in close cooperation with the development departments and other functions at Scania, as well as with external representatives.
We can offer you varied patent work in terms of all the technology relating to the development of heavy vehicles in an attractive working climate, plus continuous competence development, not just within the field of industrial property rights protection. As Scania is a member of the VW-Group there are plenty of opportunities to discuss and share experiences with the other Group members in an international environment.
Your profile
We are looking for a Patent Attorney with a few years' experience of patent work within the field of radio communication technologies or IoT, from industry, a patent agency and/or a patent office. If you have experience in analyzing and mapping standard essential patents onto standards it is beneficial. You find it easy to communicate and will be proficient in both written and spoken English, and preferably also German. As much of our work involves constantly improving the way we work, you must be open to new ideas.
