Business Unit (BU) Nuclear Power is a part of Business Division Production and responsible for all Nuclear Operations within Vattenfall. BU NP operates four nuclear power plants situated in Sweden and Germany; Ringhals, Forsmark, Krümmel and Brunsbüttel. Also included in the BU are the companies SKB, KSU, VF Fuel, Barsebäck Kraft AB, SVAFO and SQC. The BU has approximately 4000 employees. Safety and Performance is one of the BU staff departments.
Job description
The overall purpose of the department Safety and Performance is to monitor safety performance and handle fleet performance monitoring concerning indicator development and driving processes for continuous improvements. The department should also coordinate the competence centre with respect to nuclear safety, quality and performance excellence.
In this role, you will be one out of four Nuclear Safety Controller and Specialists - Site Engineers within the department. This team will gather data and information about nuclear safety, make assessments and analysis and develop decision material for BU management team and other fora regarding nuclear safety.
As Nuclear Safety Controller and Specialist, you will also work with other areas of the department such as
• developing and following up of indicators and performance
• developing and maintaining processes for nuclear power safety within BU NP
• promoting and managing cross-functional initiatives in order to reach and maintain world-class in nuclear power safety
• initiating and participating in safety management and safety culture development projects
You will participate in selected nuclear power plants regular meetings such as Safety Committees and also the Nuclear Safety Coordinations Group (SRG).
You report to the Head of Safety & Performance.
Qualifications
You have a relevant academic degree or extensive experience in nuclear power safety issues.
We also believe that you have experience from nuclear plant operations. Working language is English.
