Junior Product Designer
Location: Stockholm (mainly on site)

We are seeking a motivated and creative Junior Product Designer who is eager to grow and develop their skills primarily in physical product design while also appreciating the importance of and being keen to explore the digiphysical space. The ideal candidate will have a portfolio that demonstrates their passion for design and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Junior Product Designer, you will:
Support Cross-Disciplinary Design Projects: Assist in the design process from research and ideation to prototyping for both physical and digital products, contributing to innovative and user-centric solutions.
Conduct User Research: Participate in user research activities to gather insights into customer needs and pain points, helping to translate findings into practical and appealing design solutions.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with senior designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to support the integration of design intents, technical requirements, and production feasibility.
Assist in Prototyping & Validation: Help develop physical prototypes and simple digital mockups, participating in testing and validation processes to refine design features based on feedback.
Learn and Apply Physical Product Design Skills: Gain experience in materials selection and basic manufacturing techniques, while understanding production constraints to contribute to feasible and innovative designs.
Develop Digital Product Design Skills: Start to acquire knowledge in software development tools and apply user interface design and interaction design principles, while learning to bridge the gap between design and implementation.
Engage with Clients: Assist in client meetings by preparing materials and presentations, helping to convey design concepts and manage expectations.
Participate in Team Mentorship: Learn from and collaborate with senior designers, receiving guidance and constructive feedback to foster your professional development.
Embrace Sustainability in Design: Support sustainability efforts by considering environmental impacts in your design work, ensuring a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Key Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree (at least) in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your product design projects and creative thinking.
Design Tools Familiarity: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, as well as industry-standard design software like SolidWorks, Rhino, and KeyShot. Familiarity with CAD modeling and rendering is essential, along with basic proficiency in digital design tools (e.g., Sketch or Figma). A willingness to learn additional tools as needed.
Prototyping Skills: Some experience with physical prototyping techniques and basic digital prototyping skills.
User-Centered Design Interest: A passion for understanding user needs and translating insights into effective design solutions.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to team members and clients.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset with a desire to learn from and contribute to a team environment.

Nice to Have
Experience in internships or projects related to physical and digital design.
Familiarity with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or creative tech (Rasperry Pi, Python..) is a plus.
Interest in sustainability principles in design.
