Our Exciting Opportunity
Packet Core Business Area Digital Services (BDGS) develop and deliver packet core solutions for mobile networks. With us, you'll be part of the next step in the development of our products. We enable millions of simultaneous connected mobile users while handling traffic from IoT to 4K video in Gbit speeds. BDGS will become the partner of choice of Telecom operators using the newest technologies in cloud and automation to handle complexity so the ambitious can differentiate with TCO efficient solutions for programmable 4G and 5G networks, automated operations and digital engagements.

In your role as a Network Engineer within Product Development Unit (PDU) Packet Core ICT environment you will handle and fulfill the needs from our stakeholder's requirements in the infrastructure of Design and Test environment. The Packet Core environment consists of multiple Ericsson products for network elements which needs to be combined and set-up to work as a functioning and stable environment. They exist in both integrated versions with dedicated hardware, and as virtualized versions that run on different hypervisors such as OpenStack (CEE+RedHat), VMWare as well as Cloud Native platform using Kubernetes.
You will
Work with your team on support and supply of test equipment to Packet Core R&D. Your colleagues hold positions as Linux Sys admins, Dev Ops engineers, Network engineers, Test configuration engineers and Design architects. You will work tight together with the Operational Product Owner (OPO) in the team.
Design, configure, integrate and maintain PODs, network elements and tools in the test channels.
Maintain a stable environment and strive to optimize the network elements and solutions.
Respond to technical support queries and provide solutions to stakeholders.
Drive improvements and automation of products and processes.
Maintain up-to-date documentation.
To be successful in the role you must have
Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems or Network Technology.
High understanding of data communications and networking, including routing protocols such as BGP, routing contexts/VRFs, and switching in a mixed IPv4/IPv6 environment.
Experience with Network Management Systems and monitoring of critical infrastructure.
Good troubleshooting skills in both physical and virtual networks.
Experience working in a Linux environment is an advantage.
Experience working with integrating and troubleshooting applications installed on virtualization platforms like OpenStack and Kubernetes. JNCIS certification is advantageous.
Ability to delivering Results & Meeting Customer expectations.
Great team work and collaboration skills.
