Specifically, we reexamined products through three lenses: material selection, inspection process and packaging simplification. For instance, if you omit the bleaching process for pulp, the resulting paper is light beige in color. MUJI used this paper for its packaging and labels. The ensuing products are remarkably pure and fresh. In notable contrast to the prevailing over-embellished products in the marketplace, MUJI's products both won great appreciation and sent shock waves not only through Japan but across the entire world.
Reporting to the Store Management, the Senior Sales Assistant main goal is to support the management team in the smooth running of the store including the daily running of shop floor, organising breaks, banking, and delegating task effectively; ensuring replenishment of stock and store standards are maintained; provide support on the liaison between staff and management team ensuring efficient communication and also ensuring staff are trained to a high standard for their daily tasks and making sure the importance of security awareness is communicated to the staff and to provide feedback to management team on any potential security risks.
Role and responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales
• Provide support to the management team in ensuring all staff maintain high standards of product knowledge
• Support the management team in guaranteeing all staff are using a proactive approach towards customer service, providing the highest standard of service excellence on sales and after sales.
• Guarantee all end of the day procedures are followed including cashing up, banking and bag checks as outlined by MUJI procedures.
Systems/Administration
• Maintain awareness of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly figures and budgets.
• Be conversant with weekly line reports and best sellers list and using this information to utilise the shop floor to its best advantage.
• Help with all other general administration including rotas, personnel records, absentee and overtime sheets and petty cash.
• Maintain responsibility for exercising control over all company assets and assisting in twice- yearly stock takes.
Knowledge and skills
• Good communication skills.

• Team player.
Education and experience
• Previous fashion retail experience and/or excellent customer service experience advantageous.
• Previous cash handling experience desirable.
