hela Sverige We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our R&D team at Xylem. The team is committed to developing innovative water technology solutions, including controllers, drives, and monitoring systems for pumps. The role involves designing and developing mechanical components for electronics, such as enclosures, plastic details, and product assembly parts, as well as creating heatsinks and other cooling solutions to ensure optimal performance. Experience in mechanical engineering, especially in electronics-related mechanics, and strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team, are important qualifications.
Our goal is to ensure our products, technologies, and services remain state-of-the-art from a global customer value perspective. This commitment brings numerous exciting challenges. The team includes 7 Electronics Design Engineers and 2 Mechanical Engineers.
This role requires you to work both individually as well as in close collaboration with other colleagues such as Product Owners, Design Engineers, Product Coordinators, specialists, technicians etc. The team is located at our Head Quarter in Sundbyberg with close cooperation with our main manufacturing site in Emmaboda. We have a well-equipped R&D laboratory in the basement of the office building.
Responsibilities
You will mostly work as part of a cross functional team to develop and deliver next generation of products and technologies. Typical work tasks are:
Generation and implementation of technical product data
Technical support
Updating existing 3D parts and drawings
Generation of solutions to technical problems
Qualifications:
BSc or MSc level in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Several years of experience in mechanical design or similar
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English
Experience with Creo is preferred
Experience collaborating with tool manufacturers
Experienced with making parts using methods like molding, casting, machining, and stamping. Knows the tools and techniques for these processes
Proven ability to manage the entire design phase from concept to production
