The subject you will be doing your thesis about is fire Detection. Fire and flames from a fire contain different wavelengths depending on the substance (natural gas, diesel, insulation, etc.). Suitable detectors, instruments, and sensors, including control systems if necessary, should be investigated. The area can be divided into two parts, where one part is detection in a room/building, and the other part is detection in a confined combustion space. In addition to appropriate detectors that meet the requirements (e.g., functional safety and hazardous environments), a suitable design of the fire panel (safety system, electrical distribution, UPS, etc.) should be examined. An overview of requirements from various (major) national standards and their effects on such a system should be addressed.

Comprehensive technical report with recommendations for future work and implementation.
Trainee Program:
During the trainee program, you will undergo further training through a combination of theory, practice, and real-world cases. The trainee program provides you with the opportunity to combine education with practical work in various technical areas. You will receive in-depth training in the different systems you will work with, as well as a comprehensive understanding of Siemens Energy's organization, processes, and work methods, etc. You will work with people from all around the world and have the opportunity to develop and deepen your technical interests.
You will become a part of an open and dynamic workplace where professional and personal development are highly prioritized. We offer a flexible workplace with diverse tasks and significant opportunities for personal development for those in the early stages of their careers. As a trainee and part of Siemens Hub, you have the opportunity to work remotely from Norrköping at a local Work Space for a few days a week. When the trainee program is completed, you will continue to work in the regular business as a consultant.
You will receive a customized training program based on your background and experience. You will have a dedicated mentor from the department to help you and provide a good start to your trainee position. You will be employed as a consultant at Skill and receive a monthly salary during both the thesis project and the trainee program. Scheduled start for the Master thesis and Trainee program is in January 2024 and the program will continue for 12 months.
Profil• You are currently in the final year of your master's degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, it is meritorious if you have directed your education towards construction, structural integrity, or thermal flow.
• As an individual, we see you as communicative, structured, and detail-oriented. You are motivated by working on problem-solving, both independently and collaboratively with others.
• Knowleadge of signal processing, signal analysis, measurement techniques, or dynamic measurement techniques are considered advantageous or beneficial.
