We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join Group Trucks Operations (GTO) Legal & Compliance team located in Göteborg, Sweden. Are you a team player that wants to contribute to the bigger picture? The GTO Legal & Compliance team
The GTO Legal & Compliance team comprises of experienced and highly skilled lawyers and administrative colleagues operating in a truly global environment. As a team, we are passionate about contributing to the success of GTO and the Volvo Group by being trusted business partners with integrity and independence. Role Description
As part of the GTO Legal & Compliance team, you will provide legal advice within a wide range of legal and compliance areas and work in close cooperation with the different GTO functions. You will actively identify and work proactively with legal risks and opportunities. You will draft and negotiate contracts, provide trainings, and manage disputes. You will also promote compliance and the Volvo Group Code of Conduct.
An important part of the job will be to provide legal support the Customs, Trade and Export Control function in the areas of international trade law, trade barrier and trade agreement analysis, customs, export control and sanctions. This truly global function serves all brands in the Volvo Group and are dedicated to proactively use trade as a competitive edge and capture opportunities throughout the supply chain.
Further on, you will cooperate with legal counsel colleagues around the world and procure external legal resources when needed.
Qualifications
Master of law.
Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience.
True team player with excellent networking skills and high energy.
Strong professionalism, good judgement and high integrity.
Distinct business acumen, a strategic mind and a sense for practical problem-solving.
Ability to work cross-jurisdictions.
Passion to drive change and continuous improvements.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
High proficiency in English.
Experience in international trade law, customs, export control and sanctions are meriting.
