What you'll do at Elekta
The Lead Software Engineer is involved in the specification and development of the product, associated tools and the continuous integration system.
The Lead Software Engineer will co-operate within their agile team and with other teams in the Neuro program, using the prescribed methods of
coding, review, version control system handling, etc. to deliver their work and to assist others where necessary. The engineer may lead their team in certain aspects of its work.
Responsibilities:
To participate in all activities of software R&D projects, with emphasis on requirement specification, design, implementation, testing and documentation, user interface and usability considerations, risk analysis and configuration management whilst following company standards
To write and review TPS code and code for supporting systems and tools
To assist other teams in the Engineering department with TPS-related issues when required
To perform evaluations of technologies, methodologies and products
To follow the technical and clinical evolution within the field
Apply agile principles and practices, following SAFe methodology as a member of a scrum team.
Understand and adhere to the Elekta quality system, and introduce improvements to its effectiveness
To actively contribute to developing the TPS Engineering department by suggesting process improvements, sharing knowledge and coaching co-workers, and taking responsibility for software code and design improvements.
Authorities:
To participate in the definition and system design of products
To decide design solutions and implementation of those solutions
To review code and software-related documents
To review technical product documents
Relevant knowledge, skills and competencies:
Master of Science in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
Excellent command of English in speech and writing
Configuration management, continuous integration pipelines
Work with Linux systems
Significant work with C++
Thorough experience in Software Engineering, using version control systems, handling multiple branches in a team-based environment.
