The Stockholm Regulatory Analysis Team
The EMEA Regulatory Analysis team, based in Stockholm, offers interesting and challenging legal research work in a multinational environment within a cutting-edge information security and fiscal compliance space. With a team of six to eight regulatory counsels/lawyers, currently with roots in Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Greece, Romania, Sweden, Italy, Turkey and Venezuela, we enjoy cooperation and exchange with our fellow Regulatory Analysis teams in London, Istanbul and Boston. Together we provide the regulatory intelligence that powers our suite of products.
The Work You'll Do
Work includes global regulatory research within multiple jurisdictions primarily relating to electronic invoicing and electronic tax reporting, which entails both tax and information security aspects. You will monitor legislative and regulatory developments in our supported jurisdictions, analyze the effects that any such changes would have to our products and services. The Regulatory Analysis team works closely with Product Development to ensure that the products meet relevant legal requirements.
As part of the Regulatory Analysis team, you will provide the legal research and detailed analysis of changing legislation that powers our compliance solutions. More specifically this means:
Proactively and continually monitor legislative and regulatory developments concerning electronic document regulations. These requirements are mainly related to indirect tax, accounting, and commercial legislation.
Help determine the impact of regulatory changes on Sovos' solutions and provide detailed, timely and accurate information regarding those changes to relevant colleagues, in order to implement those changes in Sovos' solutions.
Explain legal requirements in clear language for internal and external audiences e.g. by conducting workshops for relevant teams and customers, supporting customers by providing regulatory expertise, drafting regulatory documents and keeping the market informed through webinars and blog posts.
What We Need From You
We would like you to have 0-4 years of experience in one or more of the areas of indirect tax/VAT, accounting and/or ICT/information security/data privacy and legal aspects thereof. The job requires an excellent command of English in writing, whereas Swedish is not required. Additional language skills such as Chinese, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish or other is a great merit.
We would like you to be highly analytical, with a passion for accuracy, and to have the ability to clearly and concisely synthesize and communicate information. It is also very important that you are a team-player.
