Ikano Bank is looking for a new database specialist for employment in our IT department. The position is in our Malmö office in Sweden, where we are 60 dedicated colleagues with contacts to all Ikano Bank branches in Europe. The culture is informal and we cherish a relaxed, yet professional atmosphere.
The database specialist is part of the technical operations team that ensures stability in the daily operation of our database based services, secures durable solutions to incidents and problems and practices a proactive approach to optimization of the Ikano database environment.
The database specialist reports to the team leader of the technical support team.
Responsibility
The main responsibilities of the database specialist are:
• Maintain the operation environment within the relevant operational area(s).
• Actively suggest improvements and contribute the development of the relevant operational area(s)
• Generate and actively contribute to the implementation of optimization initiatives
• Plan and execute own tasks and participate in planning of team tasks
• Develop and update relevant infrastructure related documentation
• Work consciously with personal development, i.e. recommending and taking responsibility for personal, business, competency and development targets and activities
• Daily checks and control of the DB environment.
Profile and qualifications
You have an IT education and 5 years' experience with database operations at enterprise level. You have knowledge of the ITIL processes and you are used to working according to enterprise level processes. You have:
• Comprehensive technical knowledge within databases (hardware and software)
• Strong analytic ability (e.g. when solving database related incidents and problems)
• Know-how and a hands-on approach when working with infrastructure components
• Strong inter-personal skills
• Strong communication skills.
It is expected that you have experience with e.g.:
• Oracle databases (11g and 12c):
o Standard database operations (Installation, maintenance & housekeeping, performance tuning, security, capacity planning etc.)
o Upgrades, migration and patches
o Point in time restore
o Data refresh
o Surveillance
• Oracle Weblogic:
o Forms&Reports
o Deploying
o Configuration and troubleshooting
You are passionate about infrastructure operations, ambitious with the quality of your work and a good team player, who understands how to achieve results through communication and collaboration. You thrive in a busy environment with a variety of different tasks and you communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.
You take your share of responsibility and focus on getting the job done, you understand the importance of details and you maintain a structured approach to the tasks when you work closely together with your colleagues.
Experience from the financial sector and knowledge of the related compliance requirements (e.g. PCI) are an advantage but not a prerequisite.
