One of the doers we are looking for is an Innovation Manager for metrology - someone with a solid track record in translating market trends and customer insights into compelling and actionable new concept solutions and business growth opportunities.
In this position you are based in our brand-new office at Regeringsgatan, in the heart of Stockholm, and global travel is a natural part of the job.
Job Summary
As Innovation Manager for metrology, you work together with a dynamic team of entrepreneurs and designers to identify promising business opportunities, define business plans and assess market growth opportunities. You are responsible for mapping of value-streams across manufacturing to identify the most promising opportunities; enabling our customers to be more productive. Scouting for partners to strengthen market presence over time is an important part of your responsibility, and you work closely with product management to ensure that identified insights and opportunities help define future product roadmaps across Sandvik's digital portfolio.
Your responsibilities also include:
• Identifying new market trends, business opportunities and potential partners in the innovation space in cooperation with sales, marketing and other innovation managers
• Working with innovation partners to conduct customer journey analysis, value-stream mapping and identify business requirements, quantify opportunities and gaps; translating these into actionable use cases and opportunity statements
• Developing and implementing a digital innovation portfolio for the area of metrology and quality management across different industry verticals
• Building business model and leading the development of multiple business cases and projects; monitoring, reporting and coursing correct against milestones and deliverables
• Staying on top of industry trends to identify potential uses for our business by having an eye and passion for the latest business or technological innovations.
• Developing prioritization mechanism for innovation projects
Your skills and qualifications
This role requires effective communication, decision-making and strategic thinking skills for agile and fast execution, which means we are looking for an action oriented, curious and entrepreneurial individual with passion for digital business development. You have at least five years' experience from business development, sales, or product management within industrial metrology for micro or macro scale measurements, GD&T and/or CAD/CAE/CAX. Since we act on a truly global stage, you need fluent skills in both written and verbal English.
Other required skills and experiences are:
• LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, TQM
• Innovation strategies, competitive assessments, business integration, and execution
Bonus skills and qualifications:
• Degree in Industrial Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration
• Experience in industrial automation and in-situ quality verification
• CAD, CAM, CNC, CAE, CAX
• Practical experience in design thinking methodology, LEAN Startup and agile project management
• Industrial and technology network within CAD/CAM/CAE and metrology
• Industrial network in the verticals automotive, aerospace and defense, power generation or general engineering
