The Health & Safety team has the global responsibility to secure Volvo Car Group's prerequisites to fulfill legal compliance and corporate strategy ambitions within work environment, including company health services and wellness programme. With global standards and local adaptions we define and implement common policies and strategies for work environment and health services to support Volvo Car Group's overall People Strategy. We are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate level of standards, coherence and governance are maintained on a global lever. We also secure medical services to employees in accordance to local needs and prerequisites. This position is within the team supporting Volvo Car Group's business in Sweden and consist of 13 people supporting different units.

In this role as Health & Safety Specialist you will work directly towards the Torslanda plant and support management teams on all levels to secure that appropriate actions are taken according to laws and Volvo Cars routines. Your main responsibility will be chemical handling and surrounding areas. You will contribute to the external development of the area by participating in external networks and as subject matter expert you will be accountable to oversee that the process execution are in-line with agreed policies and guidelines. You will be a part of a smaller team of four people situated at the plant and you will have your own area of responsibility but work close together with the other team members.

Main responsibilities

• Secure that appropriate actions are taken according to laws and Volvo Cars procedures
• Keep track of chemical handling to ensure that external development in the area is considered and utilised when developing processes in the field of HR and Health & Safety
• From time to time manage small sized projects within the Health & Safety area
• As project member contribute to development of Health & Safety processes

Required qualifications

• Work Environment Engineer or Chemical Engineer
• Experience from similar role within the area Work Environment
• Documented competence in chemical management
• Expert knowledge of Swedish legislation in the field of work environment
• Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
• Industry and global experience are meritorious
