Our partnership with Google Cloud is breaking new ground, enabling Ericsson Core Network Services-starting with the 5G DMC-to be deployed at hyperscaler scale.
Launched earlier in 2025, Ericsson On-Demand is rapidly moving from incubation to commercial readiness and is now preparing for trials to meet market demand
What you will do:
Platform Reliability & Availability
* Work closely with the engineering teams to ensure that deployments meet the Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budget utilization baselines for all core platform services as defined by the business.
* Oversee and manage the global platform's uptime, performance, and latency, ensuring expectations of reliability and robustness are met.
* Drive the continuous improvement of the Incident Management lifecycle, including on-call rotations, blameless post-mortems, and proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
* Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure reliability and operability are built into the architecture and development pipeline from the start (Shift-Left SRE).
Scalability and Capacity Planning
* Develop and execute a robust Capacity Planning strategy that anticipates the global growth and traffic demands typical in the telecom space.
* Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure consumption to balance reliability goals with cost efficiency.
Team Leadership and Culture
* Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global SRE team, fostering a culture of ownership, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with Development and Operations teams.
* Drive the adoption of SRE principles, practices, and tooling across the entire Engineering organization.
* Establish standards for documentation and runbooks to enhance operational knowledge transfer and efficiency.
Automation and Tooling
* Working closely with the Engineering teams and leaders, champion the "Engineering over Toil" mindset, collaboratively developing a strategy for the extensive automation of deployment, provisioning, scaling, operational tasks, and self-healing systems.
* Together with the Engineering teams and leaders, select, implement, and manage the monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting stack, ensuring comprehensive visibility into the platform's health and performance across distributed environments.
* Working closely with the Engineering teams and leaders, advocate for and support the adoption and continuous improvement of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools to ensure consistency and speed.
* 10+ years of experience in software engineering, operations, or a related technical field, with at least 5 years in a dedicated SRE/DevOps leadership role for a mission-critical platform
* Experience with public cloud environments and container orchestration technologies
* Background in designing, measuring, and enforcing SLOs/SLIs/Error Budgets.
* Solid understanding of networking, distributed systems, security, and database technologies in a high-availability context.
What makes you stand out:
* Experience managing platforms utilized by major telecommunications operators, understanding their unique reliability and performance requirements.
* Professional certifications in SRE, cloud architecture or security.
* Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and lead a team to be solution-oriented not problem-oriented
* Strong collaboration and inter-personal skills to work across different teams (especially engineering), organizations, and with customers
