o Developing new partnerships with relevant actors from the sport for development field
o Foster and maintain existing relationships with a wide spectrum of entities such as United Nations, International Olympic Committee, international sport federations, professional sport clubs, non governmental organizations, international development organizations, governments and foundations.
o Creating and fostering new programs in coordination with these actors
o Maintaining the relationship with the United Nations including the full planning and implementation of 1-2 UNOSDP Youth Leadership Camps per year during the duration of the contract
o Advisor to Forward Academy on all issues pertaining to sport for development and peace
o Represent Forward Academy and international events, functions and workshops.
o Supports and assists in the administration and day-to-day operation of the Education for Sports People Foundation.
• Experience: Expert knowledge of the sport for development and peace field. Conceptual analytical and evaluative skills to conduct independent research and analysis. Ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommendations. Demonstrates professional competence and good knowledge of subject matter; is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; is motivated by professional reasons.
• Education: High level degree in International Development. Additional education in project management and/or Sport business management ideal.
• Language: English Mother Tongue required. Additional languages considered an asset.
• 3-5 years experience in the field of Sport for Development and Peace.
• Experience with the United Nations essential for the position.
• Experience running projects and events involving a vide variety of actors such as United Nations, International Olympic Committee, international sport federations, professional sport clubs, non governmental organizations, international development organizations, governments and foundations.
• Experience in grant writing considered an asset.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships.
• Experience dealing with high level figures in the world of sport.
