Reporting to the GM of DICE, the HEAD OF CONTENT & DESIGN is a senior leadership position within DICE that works directly with the entire Studio leadership team. The purpose of the role is to ensure that DICE has at all times the right culture, vision, people, skills and tech to make our creative vision come true.
Studio Responsibilities
Sets and is responsible for the future vision for the content and design crafts hard skills to support the future of our games
Ensure that there is a design & content philosophy and direction for the studio on the artistic and design aspects of our games. o Work in close collaboration with the project Creative Directors and Senior Producers to achieve this.
Responsible for craft excellence, and the studio being able to deliver high quality games
o Maintaining a talented, competent and able workforce - high standard of artistic execution for both design and content and does so through building training, growth and recruitment strategies with Content and Design Craft Directors and Studio Leadership.
o Partner with DICE LT to ensure we have great and competitive technology, tools and workflows - smooth content creation, with flexibility, that enables iterative and agile development of awesome game experiences.
o Ensure quality by defining what it is, in collaboration with Senior Discipline Directors. Setting craft goals, sharing what good looks like, being clear with expectations and following up with constructive feedback.
o Works with Craft Directors & Studio Directors for sub-craft visions and plans.
o Build structures in collaboration with Studio Tech Director, Head of operations, Content and Design to promote and maintain strong relationships
Represents crafts in compensation and promotion vetting.
Consulted by Projects in hiring decisions around content and design leadership and strategically important roles.
Public spokesperson for DICE
Works with the studio leadership, Craft Directors and PE to nurture and care for the people working within the content & design group.
Works with the studio leadership to form strategy and long term goals for the studio as well as forming the DICE studio culture.
Consults and influences other studios and/or business units across EA based on demand and requests. Direct Reports: Expected to manage senior and director level staff in their field such as:
Design Craft Director
Content Craft Director
Studio Art Director
Product Audio Directors
Studio Narrative Director
