Supply Chain is a common function within Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC). We are responsible for managing the supply chain for parts, tools and components as well as for sourcing of direct materials for Production Units. Our target is to improve our business as well as that of our internal and external partners. We are now looking for two Global Project Managers for Supply Chain, Project Office, preferably based in Sandviken.
In this key role, the Global Project Manager, will be responsible for managing and supporting projects as assigned by the Supply Chain/Operations Support/Project Office. The main challenge for this position is to work in a matrix organization at a great distance with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Key performance areas
As a Global Project Manager for Supply Chain, Project Office, you will contribute to meeting business targets through professional Project Management, and help to enact changes which will enable the organization to reach its business potential. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Using project models to ensure consistency and quality in communication, planning, execution and completion of projects
• Identifying resource needs and managing and coaching the project resources
• Identifying, securing and managing resources required for each project
• Being responsible for the projects outcome, high quality and on time delivery without business and service disruptions
• Maintaining timely and accurate information and communicating with stakeholders
• Linking project teams, sponsors and steering committees
• Maintaining project documentation and database use/population
• Documenting and distributing the Lessons Learned
• Acting in a supporting role for other projects
You will report to the Director, Project Management.
Your profile
The ideal candidate holds a certification in Project Management such as PMI or has the equivalent Project Management experience. International experience in Project Management with a background that includes work within the logistics area, including distribution, supply and transportation is advantageous, as is previous experience of Change Management within projects. Good knowledge of system tools, particularly in MS Project 2007 and MS Office is necessary.
You are a well-organized individual that can lead and manage teams to bring about growth and get the best out of people, as well as being a team player yourself. You have good planning and problem solving skills, with an analytical approach, and you are also an excellent communicator who can provide a cooperative environment and gain the support of others to deliver quality results. As the position involves several external contacts, good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential.
