hela Sverige Engine Structure is one of the design groups in the section for Base Engine & Materials Technology. We have a global responsibility within Volvo AB Heavy duty engine range. The team is design responsible for structural components like engine block, cylinder head and flywheel housing for 11, 13 and 16 litre engines. We are responsible for advanced engineering, industrial projects and all the way to product care.

To work as a Global Geometrical Architect will give you the opportunity to develop the leading heavy duty engine platform and also to further develop the tools to be used for the mission.
As Global Geometrical Architect responsible will you be a member in a cross functional team that consist of, function developers, CFD/FME calculation engineers, CAD Engineers, test engineers, purchasing and suppliers. Your responsibility is to design, verify and validate components to well defined targets. You are partly responsible to secure that competence and skills within our area is maintained by keeping yourself updated on latest progress with in your area of expertise.
Work will require a broad network both within and outside product development.
Base Engine has the task to develop Engine block, Moving parts (piston, crank, valves......) Air compressors, support complete Volvo with a material analyses and make FEM calc. on the engine.
Main Responsibility:
Develop and lead the design of complex structural engine parts
Develop and lead the development of our CAD platform
Required skills:
Highest level in Creo Parametric
Ability to design complex structures in a complex environment
Ability to develop the methods how to use the Creo tool
Holistic view
Work in a Global organisation

Requested qualifications:
Master University degree or similar
minimum of 5 years of experience of cylinder head and cylinder block design
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Good Engineering knowledge
