Global Customs - Compliance & Governance Specialist, 2 positions

Do you want to be part of a new organisation at Volvo Cars? The work scope is global and the department is newly established.

The Global Customs department works with the mission to set-up and to manage the global customs and trade matters of the Volvo Car Group. The role will help to define the strategic direction, manage the operational and compliance needs and will work closely with business units to advise and direct them in all matters of customs and trade. This function has a direct impact on the financial result by achieving the proper duty payments and secure processes that support the uninterrupted flow of vehicles. The Global Customs department is newly established and is a part of the Inbound & Outbound Logistics Department. As Compliance & Governance Specialist you will have the unique opportunity to be part of and actively contribute to the development of the new organisation, Global Customs and to define the future Customs governance from inception to implementation and further to maintenance and improvements. In your role you will be dedicated as a specialist towards either Inbound or Outbound and you will report directly to the Head of Global Customs and you will be based in Gothenburg.

Main responsibilities
• Refine and relate the Volvo Car Group Global Customs Policy to business transactions
• Create and maintain internal instructions to establish the level and method of governance based on the Global Customs policy
• Train and guide Volvo Car employees, business stakeholders, purchasers and Logistics departments in needs and requirements for Customs governance
• Develop Customs in Volvo Car Group (reduce duty spend, increase/maintain compliance, reduce effort)
• Identify needed changes to the logistics processes, goods receipt processes etc. regarding Customs legislation reality
• Adapting importing processes for logistics reality
• Defining processes, implementing rules and requirements
• Influencing decisions on importing with logistics departments, purchasing departments and other stakeholders

Required qualifications
• You have 3-5 years of experience from a customs governance function
• You have experience from working in international customs assignments or projects
• You hold a University degree or equivalent in a relevant area
• You have Project Management skills
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
