Our team is a part of propulsion engineering which is responsible for development of the electric motor to our BEV vehicles. Our goal is to develop and deliver the best electric motor drive systems on the market for the needs of our customers. About the role
As a senior component responsible for the Electric Motor, you will be the responsible person towards supplier and the Volvo engineering project team.
You will have a close cooperation with colleagues from electromobility and work cross functional with departments within Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) and other business areas within Volvo Group. You will also cooperate with Volvo GTTs external supplier teams.
As senior global component responsible you will also
* Lead and take part of the electrical motor design activities from concept to industrialization.
* Drive the development and verification of the electric motor design together with suppliers.
* Create and follow up technical requirements.
* Create and follow up milestones/timeline.
* Contribute and share acquired competence and provide technical advice.
* Contribute with continuous improvement of business development, way of working and together build team spirit.
Contribute with suggestions and ideas that makes our system more cost effective and efficient.
We are looking for...
• a senior component responsible or product technical leader, that likes to work theoretically together with technical experts and suppliers with product development but also being hands-on with verification and installation. You like problem solving and you get motivated by the fast-paced field that we work with, Electromobility.
Requirements:
* You have an MSc degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics engineering, Physics or Mechanical Engineering.
* At least 5 years of experience in product development.
* Technical knowledge in the Electromobility propulsion products, Motor drive systems and components.
* Great written and verbal communications skills in English.
