By combining years of hands on experience from the cutting industry with advanced optimization algorithm design, Tomologic offers a paradigm shifting technology in industrial metal cutting.
We are now looking for software developers (preferably) with experience and strong interest in geometric algorithms or combinatorial optimization problems.
We believe that you enjoy working on diverse problems, and that you have the ability to work independently.
Your main focus will be on designing, implementing, verifying and maintaining robust algorithms for our optimization engine. You will work on high-level problems for nesting/packing and cutting path optimization; as well as a number of associated geometrical problems.
As a developer/tester you will foremost work to increase the stability of existing algorithms, but also develop new algorithms where needed. You will be a part of Tomologic?s core team of experienced senior developers, and will be located at our main office in the centre of Stockholm.
Skills & Requirements:
Previous experience with object-oriented and functional programming. Concretely we program in Java, with some Scala-based subsystems. (Yes, we really, really, want Java 8 with lambda expressions.)
Comfortable with both applied and theoretical computer science: everything from and between software architecture, to software design patterns, to artificial intelligence (AI), to heuristics, to graph-theoretical algorithms.
Experience with unit testing and unit testing frameworks, such as JUnit or TestNG.
Experience from developing numerically robust algorithms in deployed industrial systems; especially numerical/floating-point computational geometry algorithms, but also algorithms from other numerical fields such as numerical linear algebra or numerical analysis.
We also value experience with parallel and concurrent programming, especially related to multi-core or distributed system.
We believe that you have an M.Sc. in computer science, scientific computing, or other computation-oriented discipline. We are interested in both junior and senior developers.
