This is us, your new colleaguesWe are a fairly new team of 14 persons, started up in the beginning of 2016. We are a truly cross functional team with a mix of people from different areas; chassis, cab, electrical & wiring, software, chief project managers and also vehicle and geometrical architects. We together have a broad and long experience from developing Volvo Trucks Heavy Duty products but the most important is that we all share the same belief that anything is possible if we do it together. Our culture is based on trust, accountability and a business mindset.The Special Vehicles Development organization dedicated to Volvo Trucks brand in Sweden is responsible to develop low volume solutions and specific customized offers for Volvo Heavy Duty ranges (FH, FM, FMx).Special Vehicles Development is also a major contributor to innovation project for the Volvo group with development of demo-trucks and staggered introduction of new technologies (e-mobility, automation and connectivity).Our way of working is lean and we continuously develop and implement innovative ways of working to secure high performance in time to market, quality and reduced development costs for all our products. A Geometrical Architect at Special Vehicles DevelopmentAs a Geometrical Architect at SVD you take lead in finding a technical solution on complete vehicle level that satisfy the customer needs. Project prerequisites are not all set from the beginning and rather than spending time waiting for a complete plan you take action. You don't only listen to the voice of the costumer, you rather have a good dialog with the customer to be able to focus on what matters. You have confidence in designing the initial concepts and can communicate and gather the cross functional team to embrace your idea. With broad technical skills you understand on a practical level how different solutions affects the project stakeholders and will appropriately navigate in your social network to involve the expertise needed.The geometrical architect is using the digital packaging work to drive the product development forwards. Packaging of the complete vehicle digital model is to be secured and used for virtual verifications. This include design for manufacturing/assembly/aftermarket, tolerances, weight, main dimensions and last but not least bodybuilder suitability.You are a person with high engagement and with a drive to create the new and different, that can take a creative idea and put it into practice. You easily take initiatives and are also comfortable to take sometimes complex decisions. As speed in execution is key, you are using your previous experience with confidence to do the right thing at the right time securing the project deliveries.
