Do you want to be part of developing and leading us in to the next generation of AWD systems? We are currently looking for a Gear Development Engineer.
Role Description
The key responsibility of this role will be the development of hypoid gears for various automotive and commercial applications, working closely with other departments to specify gear development requirements, quality and performance levels. The role also involves competitor benchmarking activities for development and manufacturing of hypoid gears. Systematically separate and balance gear design parameters regarding durability, NVH and efficiency. Review and approve gear prototype and production drawings as well as specifications. Participate in customer meetings and write detailed technical reports and create/give technical presentations. Assist production facilities with troubleshooting manufacturing issues and support other departments with correlation studies. Conduct root cause analysis to review gear application and recommend technical solutions.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
• MSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study with relevant experience from comparable industry.
• Advanced technical understanding of mechanical components and engineering processes.
• Thorough experience of gear geometry and gear manufacturing procedures and tolerances.
• Product design and release experience.
• Experience in FEM required.
• Competence using various gear industry / design related software, for example Gleason Cage/T900, Klingelnberg KIMoS, ANSOL.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics is considered an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal. German language skill is positive.
• Good social skills, the ability to create effective networks and work in teams or independently.
• Self-starter with a results-oriented, driven mindset.
• Domestic and international travel is required.
