Friends vision is a world where no child is exposed to bullying. We aim to reach that vision by educating schools, preschools and sports clubs about how to prevent bullying. We do also form opinion, provide guidance and advice, and conduct research together with several universities to increase knowledge and commitment to stop bullying and discrimination.
Friends is a non-profit, religious and politically impartial foundation with a 90-account. Today, about 50 staff work in our offices in Stockholm, Umeå, Malmö and Gothenburg. Together we can stop bullying. Do you want to join us?

Friends is looking for a research coordinator to join our R&D-department

Friends collaborate with several universities and organizations on national as well as international levels. We initiate and carry out research projects, scientific conferences, international networks etc. The Research and Development (R&D) department consists of a team of six co-workers and we work close to Friends' departments of education and communication.

We are looking for a person who wants to join our team and push forward the knowledge development in Friends. Above all, you will work to initiate, realize and assess research projects. You will coordinate our research projects together with both Swedish and international universities and researchers. The role as research coordinator therefore entails developing Friends' research-based work. More specifically, it relates to how research on bullying and harassments can be used to provide as much benefit as possible in schools, preschools and sports clubs.

Together with colleagues at the R&D-department, you will disseminate bullying-related research, for example by shaping and participating in the World Anti-Bullying Forum, a global partnership to stop bullying, as well as participating in the upcoming conference in Dublin, Ireland, June 4-6, 2019. You will have responsibility for project management and the budget for research-related activities or projects within the R&D-department.

Main work assignments

In summary, the role as research coordinator includes the main assignments below:

• To initiate, realize and assess research projects
• To promote a high scientific level of Friends' work
• To work systematically with data collection, analyses and evidence
• To value, compile and disseminate bullying related research.

About yourself

You must possess good analytical ability and the ability to work on your own. The role as a research coordinator requires you to take your own initiatives, search for information and pursue specific questions in a knowledge based and development-oriented organization. You will have a very good ability to independently plan, organize and prioritize your work and look for development opportunities. The work requires the skills to collaborate and cooperate with different actors. You must be direct and clear, and conscious about quality. You should possess the ability to write research texts in English and have previous experience of publishing scientific articles, research compilations, book chapters or reports on your own and/or together with others. Friends value the positive effects diversity and equality have on our activities.
