Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening position as a Firmware Developer in our New Video Products team within our Research & Development (R&D) organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Axis' overall goal is to further strengthen and develop the company's position as the market-leading supplier of network video solutions. In order to do so we need enthusiastic and bright people and right now we are looking for a Firmware Developer to work in our New Video Products team focusing on the development of new PTZ Cameras.
As Firmware Developer you will play an important part in the development projects, developing software in an embedded environment for our new products. You will belong to a department responsible for the development of all our PTZ Cameras, from first idea to mass production. Your main tasks will be to:
• Participate in product development projects, developing video products based on our internal technology platform.
• Perform analysis, design, implementation and write unit tests of new functionality in our video products.
• Integrate and verify software created by other Axis departments.
• Perform advanced debugging of complete embedded systems
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine interest in programming and a bachelor's or a master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar. You have experience from C-programming in a Linux environment.
We furthermore think you are a curious and result-oriented doer that can work well on your own and in teams. As teamwork is crucial for Axis, it's important that you can contribute to a good team spirit promoting a creative and stimulating work environment.
In addition to the above, experience from the following areas is desirable:
• Development of embedded systems
• Debugging tools
• Low-level programming, device drivers, etc.
• Electronics and computer hardware design
THE NEW VIDEO PRODUCTS TEAM
The New Video Products team develops new network video products and accessories from idea to mass production using Axis technology platforms. We are about 80 employees in the department divided in five teams with focus on different product areas. The typical employee has a master's degree in computer science or electronics and works in roles such as software engineer, technical lead, technical expert, camera designer, project manager or line manager. Our goal is to efficiently run product development projects and deliver products to the market with high quality to strengthen Axis' market leading position.
