We are now recruiting a Financial Analyst to join an exciting international finance team within Volvo Financial Services (VFS). The Analyst will work alongside colleagues around Europe and the Globe in an engaging and ever evolving environment full of opportunities for professional development.
The Accounting and Compliance department is a core function within the VFS Region EMEA Finance department, alongside the Business Control and Capital Strategies departments. The Accounting team, composed of one Manager and one Financial Analyst, is responsible for managing, analyzing, and controlling the overall accounting and compliance activities across thirty markets in the region. These activities include adherence to IFRS, Volvo Group reporting standards, tax compliance and internal controls.
The Financial Analyst will provide financial and commercial information of high quality in a timely manner to management, according to the VFS strategy. He/she will work closely with the VFS Internal Control Department to monitor and follow-up on internal control reports to ensure that business critical risks and actions are managed effectively.
This role is a critical position in finance with a mix between projects and recurring routines; as such, the candidate should be flexible, adaptive and keen to take on the challenges in a dynamic and changing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Driving and supporting the monthly financial reporting, including working with our teams in the local markets and analyzing the results and KPIs. This requires attention to detail across a wealth of data, while not losing sight of a more holistic view.
• Working with harmonization/standardization of accounting practices. Actively improving efficiency and effectiveness in the Service Centers in EMEA by identifying and encouraging best practice sharing among colleagues.
• Proactively improving reporting in accordance with international accounting and other Volvo Group financial reporting standards
• Acts as a BCS expert to local markets: training, month-end closing support, consolidation
• Designing and maintaining BI7 and Hyperion reports, both for use at the regional and local market levels
• Ongoing monitoring of tax accounting and related issues
• Actively supporting the maintenance of the control environment for VFS EMEA by means of Management Controls, Internal Control reviews and Corporate Audit reviews. Follow up of compliance, audit and internal control reports.
• Support and analysis for VFS EMEA management
• Assisting with special projects as required
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• University degree in Accounting (or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting)
• Accounting certification or audit background (preferred)
• Minimum of three years of relevant working experience within finance, accounting, tax, or auditing
• Fluent in written and spoken English; other European languages are advantageous
• Knowledge with Hyperion and BCS (SAP) financial systems
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

• Solid knowledge of IFRS and FPP guidelines
• Good understanding of Volvo Group Financial Reporting processes
