We are now looking for a Finance Project Manager to support Vehicle Engineering on their journey ahead.

We are part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology's (GTT) Controlling & Product Finance team, serving as Business Partners for Heavy Duty (HD) Vehicle development. Through strategic business analysis and financial recommendations, we aim to enhance the profitability of Volvo Brand's HD products. Our team is based in Gothenburg, with colleagues in Lyon, Greensboro, and Curitiba. Our proactive team culture emphasizes growth, collaboration, and respect, driving continuous improvement and value for our stakeholders.
Role and expectations
As a Finance Project Manager (FPM), you are part of a team of professionals responsible for the HD Vehicle focusing on driving the profitability of a set of projects. You are in charge of (from a financial perspective) a number of projects and work closely with the Chief Project Managers and all other functions involved in the projects to prepare and anchor financial material for decisions and securing the long-term profitability targets of the Vehicle products. You are a self-driven and proactive member of the Controlling & Product Finance team, forward-looking and aiming at delivering the right support to the business. You will participate in the development of the processes and will foster a dynamic working environment with your colleagues. A prerequisite for success is effective cooperation with stakeholders across GTT at large and the ability to quickly adapt and drive to meet the challenges in new and current technologies in a rapidly changing environment.
Core responsibilities
In this role, you will drive a cross-functional team of competent, engaged, and effective finance experts, optimizing the structure of your project for efficiency. You will apply financial policies and principles and secure compliance with these for profitability analysis in projects and in the portfolio. Securing that project financial analyses are performed and proposing required decisions and action plans, securing cost control and efficiency. You will also:
• Secure robust and documented decision material for the management.
• Drive the follow through of decided action plans.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis.
Required competencies for the position
• Minimum BSc degree in Finance and/or Engineering.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience in driving the financials in R&D projects with high complexity and significant business impact, including new technologies.
• Minimum 3 years' work experience as a Project Manager
• Volvo experience is a merit
• Good understanding of project management.
